Hi.
Im listening to a show archive atm thats fiddleing with a drum sound font, and they seem pretty cool.
I have downloaded some fonts, and as far as i can tell, you have to lode them into your soundcards ram. Firstly, how do you do this?
And 2ndly, how do i play them? Soz for the basic question, thanks for any help, BEN.

I use a plug in called live synth pro in sonar 4 to load and play sound fonts. Most people use or used to use Vienna to create and edit sound fonts. However, it was not accessible with jaws. Live synth pro is no longer made or supported. However, if you'd like to know how to obtain a copy, private message me or e mail me. Note: live synth pro won't run on a machine with a dual core processor. There is another sound font player you can use in a host application, like in sonar, it's called Kye o tee. However, I haven't tried it yet. I don't use sound fonts much anymore, the quality isn't high enough.

There's also VSampler, which handles large soundfonts quite a bit better than liveSynth.
As for a soundfont editor/creator, awave studio is fairly accessible out of the box, and enhanced by the jaws scripts I've written.

Ahh well i tried vsampler and the only way that i could get it to work was to have vsampler open and then use analog x's virtual piano as the on screen keyboard; (waits for all the laughs).
Is there just a simple program that'll just act as an on screen keyboard to lemme play with different fonts?
Thanks to the above posters, BEN.

Both vSampler and liveSynth function in sonar as software synthesizers.

He might not have sonar. What kind of sound card do you have anyways? It should have a program that allows you to load and play soundfonts.
